CLOSED DOOR, OPEN HEART | STREET COOKS SPECIAL: DURING THE PANDEMIC

Most viewed

“What you give is not as important as how you give”

This sentence seems to sum up the story of Mrs. Long, the owner of Tuy Tam vegetarian restaurant. With the view that “I’m still lucky when I can share, but if I can’t give anyone something, that means I have nothing left to give”, Mrs. Long always gives charitable food, even a little bag of rice, a box of small cakes and to simple packages of instant noodles for the needy in Saigon.

As reflected in the name “Tuy Tam”, this street food stall continues to exist through periods of epidemic to share and accompany the poor to overcome their lifetime difficulties.

Under Directive 16, although this “door of sharing” has to be closed, Mrs. Long’s heart is always open to continue her giving journey when the city returns to its busy daily life.

After the pandemic, go and show your support to the nearest street cooks, they need you now more than ever.
