THE STREET PHOTOGRAPHER | AGAINST THE ODDS

Against the Odds

After many jobs, from farmer to mechanic, Uncle Dien (80 years old) found his passion in photography. He has been an on-site photographer for 30 years. Like Cyclo Rider, Xe Om, On-site Photographer is one of the outdated jobs that are gradually disappearing in modern life.

Uncle Dien is one of the last on-site photographers in Sai Gon. On the positive side, he still receives many compliments from customers for his quality photos. There are young people who come to take photos to support him. Some people love his photos because they give them a sense of nostalgia. As long as there are customers, he will continue to work as a photographer.

“You have to ask the grace of God. I’ll keep doing this as long as I’m healthy. Only when I feel too tired then I’ll quit.” Mr.Dien shared.
